The purpose of this page is to inform you about  a project of mine called 'Squidgy and Friends', and encourage you to take part in this illustrated world.  

Squidgy and friends are little creatures that can be found anywhere, and I mean anywhere!! If you find one of these creatures all you have to do is follow the instructions. Its that simple! 

Once found PLEASE respond to these creatures, as magical things can happen. The more people that get involved, the more work I'm going to have to do but the more interesting the final result will be.

The Idea

I plan to make 50 different creatures, all issued with a set of instructions, a badge, and their own unique name to match their character. The idea is for each creature to experience various exciting adventures, and to meet a wide range of people from as many countries as possible.

These adventures will come from you, and the responses you send to Squidgy HQ. Once received these responses will be sorted and turned in to little stories. These stories are to be illustrated and distributed via the same method as the creatures themselves, for example as inserts in library books, placed in restaurants, parks etc, where people can find and read them.

How this will work;

1. Firstly the creatures get placed in populated areas, for example in a shopping centre, a park, a school, anywhere really.
2. The next step is up to YOU! Once you find one, you follow the instructions and take him/her on an adventure (that can be part of your normal day, a holiday, to school/work, a party etc).
3. Thirdly, write everything down, take a picture of you and the character you have found and send it to Squidgy HQ on squidgyandfriends@yahoo.co.uk where I will try and turn it into an illustrated story.
4. Finally, say goodbye to your creature and leave it somewhere else, for someone else to find it and start a new adventure.

 Just think how amazing it would be if Squidgy and friends visited all over the world, think of all the adventures they could have. It can't happen without you though, you could be apart of this phenomena, and become apart of this global story, all you have to do is take part.

To kick start this adventure I took the first batch of creatures to Cape Town South Africa. Seven characters were to be left there, however six characters were left to start there adventures in Cape Town, while one went off to Madagascar with a South African friend.

The first batch however didn't leave for their adventures with a badge, at that stage the badges were in production, and since then the instructions have been up dated.
